Tim Lewis

In Memoriam

It is with profound sadness that we share the news that our longtime friend and colleague, Tim Lewis, passed away on July 27, 2024. Tim spent his career as an investor, consultant, and executive, culminating in the past decade with us here at Southfield. Whether working in the trenches or leading the charge, Tim’s dedication, passion and expertise left an impact on all.

His unique ability to make people feel valued was clear to anyone he encountered, and was also immediately extended to new team members at Southfield, where it’s tradition for them to sing their favorite song on their first day. He was often the first to cheer on anyone brave enough to participate or offered his recognizable playful groan to those less musically inclined. His enthusiasm for music ran deep. Tim was a proud performer himself, and (too) frequently reminded us that he was a member of an a cappella singing group, the Spizzwinks, during his undergraduate years at Yale.

Among his many special talents, Tim had a rare gift for bringing out the best in everyone. This was evident during his epic whiteboard sessions - which were an event unto themselves and will forever be unrivaled - where his intellect and energetic, engaging nature may have merely seemed like sport to him but were inspiring to us all.

Losing Tim is incredibly hard, and we will forever miss him. He was a dynamic force in our lives, an inspiration to us all, and someone we truly admired. It was a great privilege to have had him in our lives, and his influence undoubtedly has made the world a better place.
